NASA Depth sounder help

M

Mark

Can someone provide me with some instructions for the use of my NASA Target
Depth Sounder.
There are only 3 buttons, but, I have been unable to deduce how to set the
alarms. Are there any other features are avauilable besides max/min depth
alarms.
Thanks in advance - Mark

Briefly, to set keel offset, press set before turning on power, use
alarm up
and alarm down to set desired value. complete by pressing set.

each time the unit is switched on, the offset value is displayed for a
few
seconds.

to set alarms...

press alarm up (down) all it says is enter the new value and accept by
pressing set.

To enable alarms, press alarm up and down at the same time. an "A" will
display briefly to show that alarms are set. Same to disable

I have a NASA target depth sounder. It has three buttons Set, Alarm up and Alarm down. I have set my depth by switching the unit on with set depressed but I find that a depth is being displayed, but there is also an "E" displayed. What does this mean? is it E for Error. The depth does seam to give a representative depth, but when I run my engine the value becomes erratic, however when I switch the cabin lines and nav light on the depth settles.

NASA Marine's answer

NASA Marine's answers is:

E stands for Echo and not error. If unit ok with engine off then it must be noise from alternator - supress with supressor as you would to stop an allternator noise on your car radio.
