I'd like to control a 3 hp motor with something like an arduino microcontroller with the goal to build an open source treadmill desk that in my vision I'm calling an iplod.
Being a relative electronics newby, I reverse engineered a schematic from an mc-60 motor controller that I pulled off a treadmill (see attached). Could this circuit be improved, I wonder? Should I re-think it? Next steps, I'm thinking:
1. Get feedback
2. Redraw the circuit on kicad
3. Print and build the motor controller board
4. Test the board on the PMDC motor
5. Figure out how to drive the board with an arduino (PWM?)
In drawing the circuit to this point last November, I got good feedback on allcircuits that I should acknowledge.
Thanks.
