Mits V5061 Big screen

Hi Guys:

My TV repair guy says my Tuner is no good. Problem is, where the hell do I find
a tuner? I called Mitsubishi and they said they can't sell it to me. I ran the
part through a few parts places online and they can't locate one.

Anyone know where I can find this thing?

Thanks

Mitsubishi no longer supports home entertainment equipment, since about the
last 4 years. They are no longer manufacturing consumer level TV products.
They are only supporting their industrial and computer products.

You can look to see if there are any more outfits that are still rebuilding
tuners. This type of work is also dissapearing. A number of years ago, there
were a few companies that were rebuilding the tuner modules. The cost was
not always cheap, but they were able to do it.

If you call some of the major TV service centres near to you, they may have
an answer for you. Maybe the people at Mits will know a place that is
rebuilding tuners.

Mostly incorrect, Jerry. Mitsubishi got out of the direct view business and
strictly makes big screens for the consumer market. They still support most
products unless parts supplies are depleted. Not only are they still in the
business, they are considered to be a leader in RPTV products and have the
best customer support in the industry. The set was built 10 years ago and
most parts are still available.

I was not aware of a policy change in selling parts. In the past they have
sold to anyone at retail, to ASCs and dealers at discounts.

There is not a V5061 model. Assuming VS5061 was meant, the tuner, part #
295P269030 (ENV568F9G3) is available from Mitsubishi for 74.90 retail
($59.75 dealer cost). You can also get a rebuilt one for less from Tip Top
TV & VCR in Reseda CA for much less, or from PTS and several others.
