Microwave Transformer Step Down

Anyone ever tried that? Using an old transformer replacing the secondary winding with a thick copper core cable and just wrap it the few times you can to get huge amps low vac?

I guess a high frequency switch mode transformer is more efficient for this job...

But anyone here ever done it? Still looks neat melting pennies and nails at 1 - 5v lol

That MW kilowatt linear transformer is for free.

For a switchmode core of that wattage, it would typically be needing TWO wound cores from . . .not readily / prolifically available 650 watt computer power supplies.
