Lower 20KV to 5V ?

Just an idea for a long time, make a direct ignition on my car using
my existing ignition system.That is using the existing HV of the 4 spark
plugs
to drive 4 switching modules,coils and spark plugs instead.
My question is:
Between the orginal spark plug wire and the new switching
module ,there's a interface circuit..

Then:
How to lower the 20KV to 5V approxmately ?
(I assume the current is about 5mA)
Using resistor is my first consideration but is there any more advanced
method to do instead..?

All idea are wellcome..
