Looking at Interlogix Concord...Any suggestions?

Hello,
The wife and I are looking into installing a security system for
our home. I just have a few questions that maybe some of you could
shed some light on. Please keep in mind that I know VERY LITTLE about
these alarm systems. I am just a homeowner looking to protect his
family. We have spoken with a few outfits in the area and this is what
we are looking at: GE Interlogix Concord Panel, 12 wireless
door/window sensors, 1 motion detector, 2 Glass break detectors and
two of the key chain thingies. I have a few proposals for around
$1500. This would be an outright purchase of the system. No contracts,
no monitoring. Althought we would have the system monitored. What does
everyone think of this setup? (We are a young couple in a split foyer
in a fairly rural subdivision) Is the price fair? Could I buy all this
stuff and do it myself? I have read up on the system and I could run
the wires between the keypad and the main unit. Any comments or
suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The price sounds reasonable for the equipment supplied. Doing it yourself
would be a good option for you (considering all the units are wireless). Do
you have the proper glass break detector tester (requires an additional
piece of equipment you would probably never use again)?

Do you know how to properly set up a motion sensor? Do you know how to
properly install the wireless transmitters and the door/window contacts?
You can get answers to these questions (and others) from FAQ's published at
various web sites run by on line dealers. I invite you to price the same
equipment with them.

Robert,
Thanks for the info. Our basement is completely finished, so I think
it would be alot easier to pay the extra cost associated with a
wireless system. You said you sell all this equiptment. I poked around
your website a bit, but I was unable to find the base Concord package.
(with 2 door sensors, 1 motion, the keypad and the panel) Do you have
that? If so could you let me know?

Thanks
Chris
