led power consumption

Hi,

I am going to build a long light tube using 100 super bright leds. I
want to ask whether there is any way to minimize the power consumption?
I can use AC or DC as the power input.

Thanks!

More information !!
I.e super bright does not equal low power consumption but running super
bright at low power levels gives good indication for low currents.

No magic solutions.
Your leds have intensity defined as function of current, so the power
consumed depends on what intensity you want.
If you want less than 100% intensity you can limit the current by
switching it on and off by proportional parts from pure DC.
Watch your AC suggestion, leds are diodes and have polarity so the AC
needs to be rectified and is no longer AC.
To your main question (don't take it too seriously) an in-line open
switch will minimise power consumption radically.

Have fun.
