kenwood rxd 751 hifi

hi all! got this hifi and it blew the 12v negative regulator i replaced it
but now it goes into protection mode, i found out that the surround sound
smd ic is short, will this cause it to shut down? thanks!

Very possibly - but there could be other problems as well.

Maybe a lightning struck unit?

Cheers! diconected pin on the ic temporarly to stop short but still goes
protection possibly a dustbin job!

Not sure, but this sounds similar to a problem i had with a kenwood.
