jvc video hr-j220E

I have a vcr jvc and its carriagesystem for the band is blocked at his
lower
position.
If I try to power on the vcr, it makes some noise but powers off nearly
immediately.
If I cannot repair it, i want to use this vcr in conjunction with a tv
monitor.
Can anybody help me ?

It sounds like the mech is out of 'time' to the lift mech. Its too complex
a problem to talk through it. but 4 screws loosen the lift mech- however
you'll need to get the tape out first...

until the mech initialises you can't use the machine as a tv tuner
