Hi all,
In the past I built myself a PC based oscilloscope using this book: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sound-Card...00LSOR2EE/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
By one of the forum users. I enjoyed making it and it is useful so well worth the money and time put into it.
However, I'm currently trying to create infrared transmitters and receivers which require 38khz carriers to be picked up by the IR receiver. One of the limits of the the sound card oscilloscope is that it is limited to about 20khz max frequency.
I'm thinking about these cheap Oscilloscope kits: http://www.banggood.com/DSO138-DIY-...Kit-SMD-Soldered-13803K-Version-p-984002.html
My question is does anyone have experience with these and are they useful enough of will I eventually grow out of it - one youtube video I watched suggested the frequency range is not sufficient for a wide range of uses?
I've not got the money to spend hundreds of pounds on something but there are things in the £60 range that might be significantly better than these kits. This sort of thing: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hantek-Dig...=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B00EDFQ3EU
Worth saving some money or better to spend more? It would be nice not to need to boot up a PC to do some scoping. Advice appreciated.
Thanks,
