Iwatsu ss-5711 probe suggestion

Greetings all,

I just purchased an iwatsu ss-5711 100mhz scope and was hoping to get a few suggestions on some good value probes. I hope the thing works! It was cheap so i rolled the dice. I came across this forum whilst researching this old scope.and saw this thread

Im just using it for tube circuits so this scope is kinda overkill i was looking for a 5702 but this one came up and in in at 100 bucks so i took a chance. Anyway i need to buy some probes and thought maybe i'd ask here. Thanks

Surely any 100MHz probes will work.
Have you read the manual?.

What makes a 100 mhz probe a 100mhz? wouldnt any old wire do for a probe?

Thanks Bertus. Sorry for hi-jacking the thread like a n00b, So at high frequencies it starts shorting to negative instead of going through the oscilloscope? Thankyou.

What makes a 100 mhz probe a 100mhz? wouldnt any old wire do for a probe?
