Interchanging Triacs

I have a few BTA08-600B triacs which I just purchased for one repair job and found that another project calls for a BTA08-600C. What stress the differences between these and can I use one instead of the other?

To start with, the Voltage and Current ratings are different

BTA08-600C handles 600 to 800 Volts, but at 8Amps
BTA08-600B 400 Volts at 25 Amps

So the sensitivity is the issue, 25mA vs 50mA. Is this referring to the gate current required to operate the triac?
