I need a power source 48vcc

Dani

Somebody can post schemes and a components list to make a power source
48vcc?
Thanks

You don't know how to do it yourself ? Whilst people here are helpful it
isn't a place to just ask for someone to do the work for you !

You haven't even mentioned amperage ( 10mA or 100A ! ) or ripple and
noise.

Is this for audio ? ( 48V is a typical 'phantom power' voltage )

Four car batteries in series would do nicely. Correct fuse is strongly
recommended.

That's a really dumb idea. He should use five 9V's and two AAA cells. This
way he doesn't have to buy four cars.

Dani,

I don't know what your current and power needs are, or what
your budget and time span are, so my suggestion is that you
buy one rather than getting the transformer, designing the
rectification and filtering stages, etc. You can do a
search for "48 volt power supply" and one of the responses
will be: http://www.powerstream.com/48-volt.htm

Why restrict the amount of pretty Colours that can be made with such a
supply and a simple slipped screwdriver or finger ring?

You are both wrong. In one case he has to buy 4 things. In the other he
has to by 5 things when the battery in just one railway shunt engine would
do the job.

In case the OP doesn't mind a bit of ripple/noise and a moderate impedance,
he can try the phone line.

Well, I guess I have to add the big :) for him, now.

If you have a treadmill with an AC motor, why not substitute a DC
motor for it and use it like a generator?

Or maybe hook a turbine driving an alternator/generator to your kitche
sink?

Or build yourself a REALLY BIG squirrel exercise wheel?...

or a Van de Graff generator, and a step down thingummy?

And you get the voltage regulation by tempting it more or less with your
REALLY BIG NUTS?

Oh my ! You just reminded me of something.

On one of my trips to Bombay or Mumbai as is now preferred, we were being
driven back to our hotel but the traffic was moving slowly and there seemed
to be some kind of fireworks display up ahead.

When we got to the location we saw that a power pole with a down-drop had
somehow been damaged and the armoured cable was snaking about - making
intermittent connections and creating a fabulous light show in the process.
Mainly a kind of eery purple light actually. *Most* impressive !

I spent several years on a Pacific island. One stormy night I got a call
from a concerned villager that "blue light was coming out of the ground".
Needless to say inspection (from a safe distance) ascertained that the
underground 11kV supply cable had been pierced by the coral and an
*extremely* impressive light show was under way!

In "them parts" often these events are caused by improvised Do-It-Yourself
connections to *Live* wires running past the houses; sometimes the mess of
non-standard wiring looks like real wines overgrowing the utility poles.

It is amazing the there, apparantly, are no major fires and electrocutions.
