I cut an etch on cirtuit board of Palm Pilot TungstenE. Help!

Hi all,

This is a hardware/tech type situation and help would be appreciated please,
if it's solvable.
My Palm Pilot Tungsten E hasn't been charging using the AC adapter (used the
USB to charge), and the power switch hasn't been working.

After months, I finally took the unit apart following directions from a
site.

The power switch was detached from 2 of its 4 contacts and was hanging down.
I re-soldered the power switch using a 25w soldering iron, carefully placing
a small amount of melted solder on each contact by briefly touching it. Then
I used the unit; it worked just fine.
The problem developed when re-soldering the 5 pins for the charging plug.

While doing the back pin, I touched something on the board just behind the
plug with the iron. It was either two contacts (shorting them with solder)
or more unlikely a component (destroying it). While gently removing the
solder between the 2 contacts with a box knife, I may have cut an etched
circuit.

The unit now won't turn on. The A/C charger works when plugged in (battery
voltage, measured with a VO Meter between the red & black wires, shows a
voltage increase). I can't check for a hotsync since I don't know how to
initiate it from the computer desktop or the Palm Desktop. I'd backed up
and copied my data.

I just then also noticed that a chip is cycling hot/cold. This may be
normal, or not.
The chip is: 1.1 cm square, its 1.1 cm above the back of the charger
plug-in. On the chip is:

OMAP(tm), POMAP310GGZG, 44A7H6W $4

Here's a diagram of the damaged area. Can anyone tell me which etched
circuit lines should be connected?
And how to re-connect them, if possible?
Please excuse the poor attempted drawing. :) Proportions & locations not
totally accurate.

Legend:
___ = undamaged (good) horizontal etching/circuit lines
| = good vertical etching/circuit lines
/ = good diagonal etching/circuit lines
0 = connect points on board
[[ ]] = square unit located above
\\\\ = shaded area on board, possible
connect points
xx = possible areas of scratched etched lines
