HP 8116A Service Manual with Schematics

Hello!

I have a couple of old HP8116A function generators that need repair
and I have not been able to locate a Service manual with schematics.

While looking through previous postings in this group, I noticed that
"JW" has a copy of the service manual with schematics. He had
temporarily placed it on a web site as a pdf file for another group
member to download it.

JW, could you please do that again so I could download the 8116
manual? I would GREATLY appreciate it!

Thanks for the link, but the Agilent site manual doesn't have any
schematics in it. Member "JW" has a pdf manual that is 10MB in size
and includes the schematics.

I have an E41 error on my 8116A. Could you email me a copy of the 10mb version of the manual. Agilents website gave me a manual with a nag of worms. Thanks.

JW: If you read this, I would also be interested in a copy of the HP/Agilent 8116A manual with schematics. It would help alot trying to solve what seems to be standard problems on the 8116A generator (in my case the E31 error code, and of course the battery).

Hi Liyang, I have now recieved the information, thanks! (the mail got stuck in my spam filter so I did not see it first )

This is what I found regarding E31 code so far:

E31
The Timing IC U300 is unable to generate pulses of 5 ms and 25 ms.
Possible faults:
Width DAC A2: U13, U5, U17
Control mode selector Al: U152
VCO (Slope) IC Al: U201, Q220
Error feedback Al: U301, U302, Q302
Refer to Chapter 10.3 and Chapter 10.5.

Now I have something to go on, thank you very much!
