This Dc generator is being used to charge a 6v 1300mAh Ni-Mh battery !

You will need a diode between the generator and battery to stop any reverse current when the speed (value) is low.

To charge the battery, the generaror must produce more than 7V and this wil need a certain speed. The current going into the battery will be proportional to the excess voltage above 7V. Do not exceed the recommended charging current.
