How to connect an ASIC board with the FPGA board

Hello All,
I would like to know various methods by which one may connect (like
connectors, parallel cable etc.) an ASIC board with an off the shelf
FPGA (may be a Spartan #E starter kit).

Please suggest me ways to do it.
