How can you tell what this screen is capable of?

I was given this 7" screen, It does power on. It takes 12 volt. But when powered on it only displays a logo. A pet store logo, and that's it the screen does not change. I'm wondering if there is anyway to possibly turn this into some sort of digital picture frame of some sort. Unless that's what it already is. Or if it's capable possibly turn it into a video player. It does have Usb and mini usb as well as a SD card trey, volume adjustment and a whole bunch of other various 3 and 4 pin connections. Is there a type of software I could use to possibly flash a different firmware onto it? I was not able to locate the board online and there is no brand names on it. The main thing that I'm wanting to know I guess is how does one go about finding out more about a board like this and how do I know what this thing is capable of doing. Is it just a digital picture frame for displaying brand names and products or is it capable of more such as video, Music etc. This was givin to me for free so i'm not worried about breaking/bricking.

Here is a PDF of the main processor. I read that you update it using an sd card with the firmware in .img format.

I wonder what one could come up with using the SDA and SCL pins (which are not soldered in).

perhaps there is some sort of OS Allready on it?
Could be frozen because its missing components from where it was originally being used.
you should be able to force a custom OS via the mini Usb

Any other info on where it came from?

very old thread I know but the OP might still be on the air.
I have a digital photo frame which resembles this one.
It doesn't do much without the remote...
Does it look like it has an infra-red receiver? (doesn't look like it from the pictures).
Also, Google "Universal LSD Controller board" and be AMAZED what comes up.
Maybe one of these will be able to use the LCD at any rate.
