Honeywell pulling Intellisense from independent distributors?

ADT? I seriously doubt they are in any shape nor want to add more to the ADT
empire, Tyco is still having money problems and are in fact selling a lot of
the security part of the business.

It's quite an investment opportunity, assuming you subscribe to the "buy low
sell high" core concept.

Tyco fell from the 60's down to a low in the 8's... (Thank God I didn't have
any in at that time!) I then started buying and it's up to 28.57 (divide
that by 8 [the low I bought in at] and you get what I multiplied my $$$ by
[357% return or so for you mathematic illiterates]). 28.57 now (at time of
posting [markets closed]) and used to be at 60... I think there is still
room to grow and I'll put my money where my mouth (fingers) is (are)!
Granted, I'm still buying so not ALL of what I have was at 8, but I dropped
a few nickels into it at that time.

I have had only good experiences with their tech support. I distinctly
remember sending them a question by e mail one Sunday morning about
something I needed clarification on. By 1 pm that day (on a Sunday) they had
a response back to me. A big company that works on Sunday ? I thought I was
the only idiot that did that....

I also discovered a minor firmware glitch in one of their keypads. When I
brought it to their attention, they confirmed my findings and sent out a
worldwide "heads up" to all their dealers, when they could just as easily
have swept it under the carpet, since it presented very little "real world"
potential for a problem.

My impressions of this company and their people is that they are first rate
! In fairness, I should also say, I have had good experience with DSC tech
support; however, there are simply too many "glitches" with their equipment
(plus their idiotic policy of changing the wireless from 900mhz to 433mhz
and not supporting dealers on the older equipment...), plus the fact that
ADT has their greedy ruthless hands in the company, plus the fact their
quality control has deteriorated lately.....to the point where I will no
longer install their equipment as a first choice. Frankly, it's beginning to
look like a "downhill slide"....

I doubt your decision to standardize on Paradox will ever give you future
cause to question your decision.

Me too I am standardizing on the Paradox panels (I've already standardize on
their PIRs).
A week ago I would have said that I was looking for a product to standardize
on (I actually asked for comments in this forum), but I looked at the
Paradox I have installed (in comparision with the brands I have out there)
and not giving me problems so I have decided to standardize on them.
Its true the programming is easy, only the Digiplex zone set-up the
first-time is a little bit catchy, but once you did one or understand the
principle, it makes a lot of sense the way they did it.

Did you ever dealt with their tech support? How is it?
