Honda EX4500S generator diode

I just acquired a Honda EX4500S generator. It runs but puts out no power. Running properly this generator is worth quite a bit of money. We've done a test on a diode, and it doesn't seem to be working properly. I can buy one for about $50. I'd like to find one for a lot less, since I'm not sure that's the only problem this generator has. If it's a bad stator, it won't be worth repairing. The diode I have is three prong, and is marked C1502R and underneath that 93A. I can't find a cross reference. Does anyone have any suggestions on finding a cheap replacement? Thank you, Stu

Here is the circuit for the EX4500S, also ive drawn out the simple circ of the 3term rectifier which is the 12V DC rectifier. This is probably not why there is no output. Have shown the AVR & Field winding circuit. The generator can be roughly checked by disconecting the AVR unit & the 2 wires going to the brushes. Conect a small 12V battery to the Brushes observing corect polarity, & start the generator. If it now produces power then the windings are probably ok. Stop engine & reconnect the AVR & brushes & restart. It may now produce power. If it doesnt ,then you probably have a problem with the AVR (automatic voltage reg).

Here is a suitable rectifier its a bridge rectifier, you only need to use 3 pins the 2 AC pins & the NEG pin. Its a SB35-06 worth about $2.68 here localy, its 600V @ 35Amp.

Thank you very much. I know just about enough to be dangerous, but luckily my brother is an electrical engineer and he should be able to help me with the information you've sent. P.S. He just returned from western Australia where he was building a power generating plant.
