es6500-2 years ago rebuilt carb., adj.valves-plugs-etc. puts out good
volt-amp, idles about 2240 rpm and 6750 running.
the problem-Wa.state cold winters
when I did this in the summer 2 years ago, and tested, everything was
great, and still is, except in cold weather,
when cold (40' or lower) on startup it runs very poorly, and acts like
it wants to stall. in warm weather it starts up and idles properly.
After it warms completely up (cold weather), by keeping it idling, then
taking the engine out of the automatic setting, (which acts like you are
under load and brings the engine up to running speed), and then
dropping back down to idle speed, it idles as it should from then on.
Nothing I have done in the two years since will stop this. Adj the jet
lean or rich will not cure it. If I adj the throttle stop to bring it
up to proper idle speed when cold, from the low teens rpm, (idle is 2200
+ or - 100) then when it does start idling proper when (as stated above)
after a warm runup, the throttle stop it set in way to much, way to high
of idle and I have to bring the stop screw back out.
I noticed also, if I took a hair dryer and let warm air into the
breather intake when it was doing this at startup on cold days, the idle
would come up, naturally you might say, as if I had started it up in the
summer time.
What have I got out of adj., if anything, and/or is there anything to do
to stop it from wanting to almost die when I have cold startups. Low
teens (rpm) for this engine, it is really not wanting to run.
Thanks Bob
