Hello,
Last couple of days I've been working to automate my AC using an ESP8266 and making it accessible from a webpage.
Now the prototype is finished, it can both send IR and receive command from the old-fashioned remote and update the configuration. I'd like to put the design in a project box but I still got a bit of a design issue. The sender led can easily be exposed by making a hole in the top of the case (I plan to mount the case to the wall underneath the AC) but the problem remains to expose the receiving IR led (TL1838) to what should probably be the front of the case. Has anyone here ever encountered the same problem before and if so how was it solved?
