Help with Pioneer SX-850 stereo receiver volume problem

Hello. I'm a first time user. I need help. I have a Pioneer SX-850 stereo receiver. The left volume is shorting in and out on the stereo setting. The mono plays both speakers. Can I fix it? Thanks.

Welcome to the forums

have you done any google searching for a service manual/schematic ?
it would be the first place to start ... with that info, you would then be able to narrow down the fault to the tuner output, or the preamp stages or maybe the power amplifier stages
