Hello Everyone!!
I have been trying to figure out how to power one and/or two LED strips from a TV that had a cracked screen. I have a couple of projects in mind but my first obstacle is to get the LEDs to turn on. Tried looking through a couple pages off google which led me to believe that I might be jumping in to this pool at the deep end without knowing how to swim. So I was hoping one of these forums might help me figure it out or at least point me in the direction of some literature that would help me figure it out.
Ok so here is a picture of the two LED strips I pulled out of the TV (BN96-36234A LED Strips). They have 5 LEDs per strip and what I want to do is figure out how to power each side separately and how to power them both together. I also have all the components from the TV's which I was hoping to use to build a power source. The problem I ran in to was I was hoping to find a Voltage/Amperage rating for them that I could then use to find/build a power source but instead all I could find was that it was not as simple as that and one thread I found said that controlling the Voltage might not be enough and could burn out the strip.
So my question is how do I determine how much power the strips need, what do I need to buy/build to supply the power, and what is the difference between one strip and two strips? Finally how far over my head am I trying to take a project on like this?
Thank you guys for taking the time to read this!
