Help with AC Delco 2 on 03' Chevy S10

Hey guys,

Found this forum with a similar topic via Google so i figured i'd ask you guys.

I have an 03' S10 2.2 with a stock radio that i (just yesterday) removed so i could install a hidden antenna i got off ebay:

(*It wont let me post links, it's called AntennaX Hidden antenna For all vehicles on ebay *)

SO i removed my dash and pulled out the ABS fuse from the fuse box. I unplugged the dome light and headlight switch to get to the stereo. I unplugged the stereo and attempted to switch the plugs at the end of the new antenna and the existing stock one. The stock one had a smaller plug end and the new one had a larger one that woudnt fit. I was ancy to get the install done so i got out the electricians wire strippers/pliers and cut the ends off both antennas. I soldered the copper center wire of the old stock plug end to the new hidden antenna's center wire. I made sure the outter copper wires were touching and then taped with electic tape.

SO after doing that i tried to finish the install and connect as i thought i was supposed to, plugged the new antenna with the old plug end to the radio, and the thinner wire, i wrapped to the screw that is sticking out of the back of the radio (that's the12v power source, right?) and screwed the white cap that was on it back on to hold the thinner wire in place.

SO i did all this like i though i was supposed to, put back on the dash and everything, stupidly didnt attempt to test out the radio before i put the dash back on (i was kinda rushed) then noticed that the AC Delco 2 plug that is below my dash. Ive never known exactly what that little plug thing was for but i thought i remembered reading something about it having to do with security and the radio in my Chilton truck manual... So yeah i didnt pull that out before i unplugged the radio to do the install and....i;m kinda worried cuz when i tested it out finally, the stereo didnt turn on at all... i must've done something wrong... was i supposed to pull the AC Delco 2 plug thing out before i unplugged the radio? Is my radio like fried and broken now??? i need help. dont have any audio source whatsoever in my truck right now and it's hell, lol.
thanks guys i'd appreciate the help.

Will
