HDMI to LVDS converter

Hi all.
I am trying to design my own hdmi to lvds converter since all the one's available in the market are around $35.
I found a few documents about the same on TI website :http://www.ti.com/lit/an/slla325a/slla325a.pdf

I also found an IC by Chrontel: http://www.chrontel.com/media/Datash...Rev%201.32.pdf

which ICs total cost to about $6 to $10 depending on the design.

I am doing this for a college project and don't have must knowledge about this.

If anyone has worked on this before please guide me.
I have some datasheets but am unsure how to design the circuit exactly.
I have worked on eagleCAD before and have some experience in PCB designing.

Any sort of help is appreciated.

With a PCB, cables and connectors, I don't see how you could come in less than $35.

Also, the chip you linked goes the opposite way, from LVDS to HDMI.

That appears to go the right direction. But this is not going to be an easy project. How much is your time worth? You are going to work how many hours to save, at best, $25? What hourly rate does that come to?

Sir
I am still a student and not a freelancer or a working professional.
I am looking at this as a part of the project I am working on.
So this will help me learn more.
And also it will make my product cost cheaper if my project sees through and enters market.
