FunFactory Yooo battery problem

I'm trying to get a rechargeable vibrator to work. It has a generic looking lithium ion battery stamped with 500 MAH. The black wire is not connected to the battery, and the red wire goes through this orange plastic and I can't see where it's connected. On the other end the black and red wires come together in a small plastic plug.
Should I bother trying to reattach the wire? Can I just replace the battery?image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Thanks for any help

My advice would be to replace the battery with the same type and capacity. I wouldn't mess around with lithium batteries unless you know how they are assembled. For safety reasons dispose of the battery properly and buy a new battery.

Seems like an exciting project.

Look on eBay for a heap of people selling LiPo batteries in various sizes. They're not expensive.

After you've replaced the battery you probably should charge the device before you test it.

I'm sure you can come up with your own testing protocol.

If you can find an identical replacement battery, great. Otherwise you need to find out what else is in there, apart from the battery. It could just be a fuse of some kind.

If you can break it down as far as the internal battery, you should be able to replace that with a generic 500 mAh Li-Pol battery of the right voltage and keep the fuse, or whatever.

As the "no rubbish bin" symbol says, you mustn't throw the old battery away. See what recycling or disposal facilities your local authorities provide.
