Fridge compresor not running - correct replacement relay?

Hi - I don't know if this is the right place for this question.... But my Hotpoint larder fridge has stopped cooling. The compressor does not appear to run.
From YouTube it has been suggested that a common part that fails is the relay on compressor.

The original part is muRata brand and has 3 pins. Markings printed on the pin side are
220MD
3 'circle with M inside' 12
I cannot find any reference to this on the web - even on the muRata website :-(

I bought a similar sized one from eBay that does fit but it has not started the compressor...

Any ideas?

Many thanks :)

Have you measured the windings on the compressor? There are plenty of videos online showing how to do this.

The fault could be the thermostat or circuit board.

Have you managed to find a schematic or service manual for the fridge? Often, there is a connection block diagram on the back or inside when you open up the fridge.

Not sure if this would apply to a larder 'fridge, but a common refrigerator failure is in the self-defrost timer. It gets stuck in the defrost mode and power does not get to the compressor.

I have the same problem.

My original starter is muRata brand and has 3 pins. Markings printed on the pin side are 220MD.

How do I know what is compatible?
