Finding a replacement MOSFET

I'm trying to fix a Sherwood AM-7040 Stereo Power Amplifier and found that one of the MOSFETs were shorted. It has J162 8L1 printed on it and the schematic says it's a 2SJ162. I believe Digikey has more info about it here:

Unfortunately, it's obsolete. My question is, what specs need to match and which ones can be greater or less than the original?

Digikey give an alternative P-channel fet which should do.
The voltage should be greater.
The current should be greater.
The gate voltage tolerance should be adequate.
The power capability should be greater.

Why did the original burn out?

Awesome! I saw that one, but wasn't sure.

Not sure why the original burnt out other than possibly age. Now that it's removed I should be able to power everything up and check voltages, right?

Also, since I'm replacing the original with something different, does that mean I should replace all of the P-Channel fets to keep everything balanced?
