I rescued 2 large rolls of fiber optic cable, one roll had the ends still attached and one rolls optic ends were cut off, I wonder if anyone knows a way I could attach an end or use this cable in some other way, the glass wire is quite thick and when I remove the many coatings including the liquid coating the glass wire will not bend just break.
If this is successful I will use it for laser transmission. Thanks for reading this..colum

Hi Dave, Don't know how to post a photo yet but the ends are small optical lenses that probably enlarge or concentrate the beam and a mechanical coupling...colum

Hi Harald. Its single glass wire that is too thick to bend and is certainly glass and I understand that a cable that can transmit an image is called coherent but this cable must be a 100 ft so I doubt it can transmit an image..I wonder if theres anyway to cut the ends and leave a flat surface for polishing..colum

click on Go Advanced button below the text box
then click on the Manage Attachments button
A window will open up you will see some Browse buttons in the top right of that window

click on the top one and find the file on your puter
The file location will load into the field to the left of the browse button
click on the Upload button
the file name will appear
just above the attachment key info line

close that window and go back to the text box you are typing in

finish off any text and save
the file will show as a thumbnail at the bottom of your post

there is another couple of steps to show the pic in the post like I have done here but lets just see your pic for a start

keep the pic small .... less than ~ 100kB and 800 x 600 or smaller
