Fairchild Diodes SS14 bad factory policy ; beware !

S

Hi

I wonder how in heaven its possible to get explain this.

I got a batch of PCB's witch an SS14 diode on it. made in China.

After testing ,it turned out that roughly 40% of the diodes have the
component stamping 180 degrees flipped.!
What should be the cathode is the anode !
Someone seems to re-sale trash...

I think companies like Fairchild have a an ISO 14xxx or other quality
certificate, but this issue shows that there are
serious holes in it....

Of corse this only seems to happen in China.....

I have personal knowledge where critical component measurments are disabled
to improve yield ...
(Fameous .company with roots in holland and producing film capacitors in
China )

Could it be possible that the parts are made and labeled by a
subcontractor, and they had someone get hold of the rejects and resold
them?

First: Did you get certs from the factory?
Also: did you speak with the product engineer?
And: Did you notify the distributor?
What have they said about it?

An unsupportable allegation may be your idea of a warning, but I
can't believe you have proven anything yet!

I have never had a bad lot of parts from Fairchild, but I did get
a few bad ones which they cheerfully replaced.
