Electric motor control

Ok so i need to hook up a small electric motor to a speed control so i cab adjust the speed obviously.. The motor will be running around 5v maybe less but i need to be able to measure the amount of electricity the motor is drawing. Any suggestions? The motor will need to turn an axle at a rate of 10-30rpm with or without gears but measuring of the power drawn from the motor is key.

What are the torque requirements?

A converted to full rotation (360°) servo would likely fit the bill...

Its very minimal, im need to all this but if my calculations are correct then it should be less than 0.03 newton meters
