Disabling Fluke 8050A Batteries

I have a Fluke 8050A DMM with the optional NiCd battery pack.

Does anyone know of a modification I can make to it which will allow it to
operate (correctly and safely) with the batteries removed, so it runs from
the mains power only?

TIA

Copied this from n earlier post: Not exactly sure about the 8600A but many
of this type are dependent on the
batteries for filtering the line power. I have simply removed batteries and
replaced them with electrolytic caps with success - though you probably
would want to insert the apropriate current limiting resistor between the
supply and the load as the charging current will no longer be loading down
the supply.

As mentioned above- just replace them with electrolytics - make sure they
are polarized in the same direction. Depending on the particular meter you
may have a bipolar battery supply or simply a single polarity supply. ie:
you will need either one or two caps. I would use something like 2200uF at
16V. But anything in that ballpark will do. The caps will take over the
filtering of the supply but you will probably need to insert a resistor
between this supply and the meter (load) to compensate for the fact that
there is no longer a charging current being drawn from the nicads.
Experiment with the value of R till you have the voltages looking right.
It's pretty simple really.
