difference between analog and digital ground

hello,
can anyone explain me the difference between analog and
digital ground.for an analog ic ,suppose if i had given digital Gnd
for a certain pin ,
does it make any noise,in my circuit board layout.

Not really.
It's very pertinent to anyone doing a cad circuit layout.
Digital ground is typically noisy. Analog ground is really a nice,
clean, 0V reference.

An analog ground is a grouping of points that are connected
together. How nice and clean it is, depends on what you
connect to it and how well you maintain its integrity.

....Same for digital ground, except it starts out in a bad
neighborhood.
