Diesel Tank Digital meter

Hi everyone

I am going to design a digital meter for measuring liquid like diesel. In the first stage I would like to know which sensor shall be used and it also has the capability to measure 1mm variation. I would request if you can link me to the resources on internet.

1mm variations arent hard to do, but what is the full range of motion that the level may be?

is there going to be clearance above the highest level that the diesel will reach?

what kind of power will you be able to provide to this system?

Did you check the marine fuel tank pressure sensors?
