Denon Receiver, faint dirty/burning smell ?

Hello,

Last couple of days... I have noticed a faint dirty/burning smell... like
sigarette smoke... very faint...

I think it's the Denon Receiver (?)

For now I shall turn it off and only turn it on when I want to play music or
so...

(The burning smell is more intense when gaming )

Or maybe standby is better... but maybe then it still smelly ?

(So for now off... the burning smell is kinda annoying)

Only other explanation I have is dust inside the PC burning up... (?!?)

I open a little window so a little bit of cold air breeze goes through
appartment it helps a little bit... but it also gets kinda cold... and still
stinky nasty smelly is there now and then so not cool.

Once it gets to the stinking stage, finding the hot part should be easy.
The circuit board should be brown around it.

There are two types of components that I've seen get stinky in an amp.

First is the output resistors when component failure has caused
incorrect bias or oscillation. These come in pairs and you'll need a
tech to fix this unless you know audio circuits.

Second is an aging/undersized resistor driving the low voltage circuits
from the high voltage lines. This would be a single hot resistor next
to a three pin semiconductor that is also hot. Just solder in a
replacement with the same resistance (from the label, not measured) but
a higher wattage.
