If I have this right...
4 device delays for neg edge.
4 device delays for pos edge.

IIRC, the JL cct only has a 2 device delay.

They do not really count up that way. Flip-flops and similar do not
usually count up at the same way as ordinary gates. Read the data
sheets.

OK, but a 9602 is 40 ns prop delay all by itself.

I think the entire thing can be done with a single schmitt trigger
gate, one prop delay.

Your stuff is so ugleee, have to coin a new word: *uglionics* for what
you do...

It has the compensating virtues of being fast, being hazard free,
being simple, and doing exactly what was requested.

Measuring the ugliness of your designs is like evaluating 0/0. You
belong to the Ladies Auxiliary of S.E.D. Hey, bring us another tray of
those little triangular roast beef sandwiches with the crusts cut
off... you do those so well.

Maybe, they are cross interlocked.

Yup. After they both fire, roughly 40 ns after, the fun begins.

Another hairball, but at least it's a bit simpler. Still too slow,
even when it doesn't screw up.

A 9602 is 40 ns all by itself. The OP's limit was 10.

Personally i would use a 9602 and a 7400 connected as a gated rs
flip-flop. R of 5K and c of 10 pf or so.

Schematic?

I'll try to figure it out while ...
stuck in traffic..
waiting in line..
waiting for the waitress..
waiting for a gas fill
and riding the elevators :)

I might even freak out some people by mumbling some electronic
gibberish to myself :)

I'm just using a topographical point of view...
The more devices..the more delay..
I do realize gates and ff's have individual tp specs to be later
checked on datasheets..

Either a topology is developed 1st and then the technology is found
for a fitting....
Or...
The alternative is..
The technology is chosen 1st and a topology is developed based on
that.

You want me to show all my cards, without a little raising and passing
and bluffing first? That's no fun.

Really, it's pretty obvious. Once you consider reducing the prop delay
to 1, it just pops out.

What bs rate? I posted the best and simplest deglitcher so far, and
there's nothing wrong with it [1]. I posted two cops
micropower-booster circuits, both of which are usable; the seesaw
inverter is actually more interesting than it may first appear. I just
posted a rather elegant perfect-class-AB signal splitter, which I
sincerely hope will piss Fred off.

You think the schmitt thing is bs?

John

[1] it would be even better if I replaced the RC with one of those
magical "Delay" boxes.
