I did a search and missed your 2-28 post, but it still
has been a couple of weeks.
Any progress on the nickle/hydrogen device?

The Ni/H LENR project is creeping along. I've updated the descriptive
web page (link below) to show what the control lash-up looks like and to
give a better idea of what will be going on inside the little Arduino
microcomputer.

I never heard of the Arduino. How do you like it and the programming?
How about the A to D's for the sensors? Have you used any of the PICS?

I'll need to wire up my central solar and need something.
Since that description was put together (I think) I worked out how to
incorporate an ancillary process to produce the hydrogen fuel component
on the fly - the primary problems there involved drying and bringing the
hydrogen up to a useful pressure. When I'm sure I've got it worked out
right, I'll add that process to the web page.

That is pretty cool. Quite a project!

I was just reading this:

http://www.journal-of-nuclear-physics.com/?p=338

That would seem to have an equation for the amount of energy needed to
sustain the time limit needed for the reaction. I didn't run any
numbers, but do you have any idea how much pressure you will need? (It
would seem that the temperature needed would be doable as it is less
that the melting point of the container, and nickel for that matter.)
That may give you an idea of how high the local pressure would have to be.

I'm just musing... Put me on the pre sales list. I want to be the
first on my block to have home fusion! And I won't be building my own!!!

Please Morris, put me on that list too. I want to be grandfathered when
they start regulating these things ...

I'm still here, been busy with my Open Source (fuel) Still and
publication, our Open Source Still (Arduino) controller publication
was just released, I'm in a small world wide group that tests
different feedstock for fermenting ethanol and we're designing an
Arduino controlled fermenter to take the complexity out of
fermentation and achieve repeatable results, and I'm just bringing
on-line a 8 gallon per hour continuous still (BIG) in Indonesia.

I'm planning my algae tests for this summer, and working with a guy in
Texas to combine a solar shed with a fermentation shed to supply
domestic space heat for his home in the winter and process heat for
his fermentation in the summer.

I've also am planning my garden and starting plants to be
transplanted; I still read here, there just hasn't been much going on
out here lately.

I'm not sure what Curbie's up to - perhaps he's been taking advantage of
the warm weather to work on his algae project ... or perhaps he decided
to take a vacation from a.e.h until after the crossposted physics
threads fizzled out. ;-]

Ok sorry, I got my technologists mixed up.
BTW. Maybe you saw the latest change with the hydrogen source?

•The hydrogen canister has been removed and the hydrogen is now stored
inside a solid material due to safety reasons.

Picked that up with this;

"There is only one thing that counts for me: to work and to make a valid
product. If there will be competition, whomever they are, they will have
to fight against a very tough competitor. We will be very tough to be
beaten." ~Andrea Rossi

Here is a summary of the latest ECAT developments made by Andrea Rossi:
•Andrea Rossi has developed a new design of the ECAT Home unit which is
33cm x 33cm x 6cm and can be put vertically or horizontally. Total
weight is 10 kg
•The technology is completely changed, new patents have been applied
for, an intense testing program is going on with very good result
•Leonardo Corp will defend its Intellectual Property against copycats in
all necessary courts
•The new ECAT Home unit has two simple connections for input and output
of water
•No pictures will be released until the product is for sale
•By law a customer has 60 days of time to give back the device if
unsatisfied, and Leonardo Corp give all the guarantees required by the law
•Production capacity of new factory is one million units per year
•The hydrogen canister has been removed and the hydrogen is now stored
inside a solid material due to safety reasons
•There is a new control system for both the ECAT Home unit and the ECAT
1MW Plant which are made from an undisclosed supplier, not National
Instruments
•The only certified places to pre-order an ECAT are either
[email protected] and/or via the order form at ECAT.com
•Certification from UL – Underwriters Laboratories is in process
•The highest temperature that could be achieved in the reactor of the
domestic ECAT is just below the melting point of Nickel
•No radiation has ever been detected outside the ECAT
•The ECAT has already got important authorizations
•The COP (Coefficient of Performance) is 6
•Licenses to sell and market ECATs has been granted to licensees, not
yet published
•When Leonardo Corporation will execute the commercial strategy, the
entire network of the licensees will be published
•Andrea Rossi anticipates that an air conditioned generator and a
electricity generator will eventually be suitable accessories for the ECAT
•Siemens has shown an electricity solution for Andrea Rossi with 33%
efficiency for 25MWe at 250C, 40bar and a smaller version with 30%
efficiency for 5-8MWe also at 250C, 40bar in the secondary circuit
