Correct Motor Help

I'm trying to build something that I can use to get around quicker. I have seen people who build electric skateboards and such as a mode of transportation. I would like to make something similar (skateboard or even Rollerblades) but I don't know where to start with choosing a motor. For example, if I were to make Rollerblades, I would need two weaker motors rather than one powerful one for a skateboard. So what motors should I use?

Brushless motors are readily available for rc use and as such fairly economical.
Controllers for the motors the same.
Perhaps 2 smaller motors for the same reason.
As for size you can get examples on some of the rc forum sites as to power.
They can rev fairly high so gearboxes may be required although there are a selection of various (kv) revs per volt theoritical you can choose from.
Driving them can be via lipo battery packs, again fairly cheap these days but require specialised chargers.

Skateboards and roller blades are used by lightweight kids. Your weight determines the power needed from the motors.

Thanks for the advice! Can I have any specific recommendations? I am planning to have the motor by the heel rotating a belt fixed to the back wheel of each boot.

Use synchronous belts, sometimes referred to as cogged belts as they will not slip and there are small aluminium pulleys available to give you some " gear reduction".

Thanks for this info! I have food an aluminum synchronous pulley with a cogged belt. The pulley has a 5mm diameter hole so I'm getting a 5mm diameter aluminum rod that will attach to the back wheel (or wheels as I may decide to have two wheels on the back of each state for stability). Does the motor attach directly to the belt or another pulley?

Not sure what you mean about 5mm rod but if your intention to drive this on the surface of the wheel then forget it, never work.
Idea would be use a small diameter pulley on the motor and a large diameter pulley on the wheel, same arrangement as used in go-karts etc only they use a chain instead of a belt.
Look up synchronous belt reduction drive arrangements on Google as they will show diagrams.

A major part of the process is electronics and the main point of this most is finding the correct motor which is electronic, so nice try

In that case I won't recommend fora which focus on electric vehicles where you'd find many people with knowledge specific to your questions.

I also won't mention that I used them as a resource when modifying my own small electric vehicle.

The motor power and method for it to drive the wheels with pulleys or gears is determined by electric vehicle experts, not us electronic circuit experts. Electric vehicle experts can tell you which motor they recommend and where to buy one. The speed control and maybe braking for the motor is electronic and we can help you with that when you tell us the spec's of the motor you that you have been recommended to use.

I think a "fora" is a forum for electric vehicles but they talk about electric cars. Maybe try forum for electric skateboard, yes there are a few of them.

I saw a little kid (10 years old?) riding an electric skooter. Each small bump in the sidewalk almost dumped him. I could easily outrun it on my feet.
Google shows a couple of skateboards powered by a jet turbine engine.
