Circuit design

Is there someone who can help me design a simple circuit using a 12 V DC current to power a solenoid valve rated at 6.5 W I want the circuit to stay activated for 1/2 of a second and then shut off until reenergized
 
I’m working on an idea which requires me to build This circuit I don’t know what’s entailed and I don’t know where I would find a timer that would do this can you design a circuit to accomplish what I’m after
 
Does it have to be designed from first principles or can you just use an off-the-shelf product that has been designed for the purpose?

Is this some college/school task?

Sure off-the-shelf work fine but I have no idea what I’m doing or where to find it I’m not electronic Minded guy
 
555 delay off timer modules on Ebay for around $10 with relay output BUT your 1/2 second requirement might be pushing the friendship to be accurate and practical.
How often is this cycle to repeat?

Thank you for your reply to be honest with you this is for an invention I built in auto feed paintbrush the circuit which I’m looking for is required so that when I turn the power off the specialize valve in the brush will spring closed allowing a suction against the tubes which the paint to the brush that’s why I can only be half a second
 
Flammable liquids and electrics don't go well together and any mixing would need a specialised design piece of gear with all sorts of certification.
That said, you did not say what the expected cycle time would be but I doubt any piece of off the shelf gear such as previously suggested would be appropriate.
Have you considered a mechanical equivelent to your requirement? Might be a good move for reasons above ( costly stuff certifications) not to mention if things go belly-up further down the track.

No I don’t think you understand perhaps I didn’t explain it correctly it’s a latex only Paint brush the timer controls a solenoid valve that dumps the pressure from the line allowing the valve in the brush to work correctly there is no immediate contact of electricity and fluid the half second work the best anything more in the valve stayed open too long anything less the valve won’t open long enough I just looked at the 555 timer they appear to be 0 to 10 seconds or longer I can see why you wouldn’t think they’re appropriate that’s the reason I need someone to design a circuit for 1/2 a second does not need to be adjustable thank you for your time

PS the circuit operates randomly depending on when the user wants to turn the brush on and turn it off it won’t be A high-speed operation
 
As suggested, a timer could be built around the 555/556 I.C.
If purchasing off the shelf: Attached timer types.

Yes, it does.
Variations in component values is why the module needs some form of adjustment.
That combined with the need to market a module that appeals to many with one unit.
You are also asking for 1/2 second accuracy.
Ebay have many.
