Case study- High frequency electronics: Signals,sensors and electronic interfaces to ADC

Hi,

The above mentioned heading is my case study topic.. the problem I have with this is in knowing what exactly the lecturer is expecting me to write.
Should I write about an ADC that uses Signals, sensors and electronic interfaces? If so can I have an example of such an ADC.
or I'm not sure if they are asking individually about Signals, sensors and electronic interfaces in comparison to ADC.

What are High frequency electronics...do semiconductors and microwaves belong to this category?

PS: Once I am clear with the topic I can begin my work on this case study. so your clarification and help in this regard is much appreciated as my lecturer is not being much responsive.
