best 2mtr/70cm antenna for sailboat

I am installing a 2meter/70cm unit on my sailboat. What would be a good
antenna for the marine environment to install on my radar arch?

Unless your boat is aluminum or steel get one that does not require a ground
plane. There are many dual bands that act as an end fed 1/2 wave dipole on 2
m and as two 5/8 wave length antennas on 70 cm. This set up does not require
a ground plane and works well on my boat. I believe that there are also dual
band J-poles that will work on both bands and do not require a ground plane.
