Beginner To Electronic... Need Help

Basically im trying to make an item which can keep track of events every time a sensor goes, the sensor needs to be small and to be able to go off due to once a certain amount of heat and motion is sensed. I think that a per sensor would be best but I'm new to this completely and just need some basics to get me started. So I just wanna know what kind of sensors only go off when heat and motion is detected and if it's possible to connect this sensor to a counter. Any feedback or questions are welcomed.

Buy a pir sensor with a relay output so you can connect directly to whatever counter via the voltage free contacts.

As @Bluejets said, get a PIR
these are just standard intruder alarm units sold by the millions
