Hi guys.
I'm currently building a power line modem.
In this picture taken from MAXIM/DALLAS' MAX2980 AFE datasheet
http://geocities.com/Antonio_Magma/sparkgap.JPG
There's this sparkgap just before the powerline at the upper right of
the picture.
I've done some searching and i realise there are many types of voltage
suppresion methods and components, such as transient voltage
suppression diodes, transils, varistos etc.
Which one should i be using? The breakdown voltages should be at 240V
right?
My circuit is to be connected to a 50/60Hz 240V AC power line. I'm
transmitting at 4Mhz-20Mhz
Please advise. Thanks.
