is it likely true, that when a new generation of iPod touch is released into society. that model would only go down in price a slight bit, who knows what. but would it go down in price when a newer model comes out?

When the new model is release the older model will in fact 'slowly' go down in price... typically being put on sales and clearance to remove the inventory from stores who don't want to sit on older tech when the newest one is out.

They don't just chop an old model's price in half to put a new model out though.... they typically put the new model out at a higher price first and let it sit for a while look at xbox prices
