I haven't been in Holland since the Rights are on the move...
The level of Holland dropped, IMO.
Maybe the ppl are still the same (uninquisitive and not argueing before
happening... a wonderful style which I like a lot! In Austria you are
firstly a criminal and then you get seized into anything the opponent
wishes to see you...) like before, when the Left Democrats vanished
from the show it became a bit Nazi like....
What I hear about Holland politically, was formerly, before the Right
activists, much better.
There have always been right wing activists in the Netherlands - in
WW2 they produced more volunteers per head to fight with the SS
against the Russians than any of the other occupied countries - but
they are a despised (if vocal) minority. A few years ago the
psychopathic - if talented - Pim Fortuin demonstrated how you could
mobilise extreme right wing idiots into an electorate, before some
left-wing idiot made the tactical error of making his activities
respectable by shorting him dead. Since then Gert Wilders has tried to
step into his shoes, and the former (decidedly right wing) minister of
the interior - dissappointed at not getting to be leader of her long-
established political party, has decided to emulate Fortuin by setting
up yet another far right party.
None of them have any real political power nor any prospect of getting
any, but they do go out of their way to upset minorities as a
mechanism for getting themselves into the newspapers and on TV.
