Adding headphone jack on TV with isolated speaker grounds

I want to add a phone jack on a modern TV that has completely isolated stereo speakers. The jack to install has a common ground. Question 1: why do some TV's isolate the speakers? Question 2: What components can I use to communize the speaker output negatives so I can use the common grounded jack?

Hello,

On question 1 : It can be that the audio output is done by a bridged amplifier to gain a higher power.
On question 2 : You could use two audio transformers.

Thank you for your response to my questions. It sounds like a good idea although I have not found any small 8 ohm to 8 ohm, or even 16 to 16 ohm transformers. The only thought I've come up with is using two 300 to 8 ohm, connecting the 8 ohm side to source on one transformer and its 300 ohm output to the 300 ohm out of the other and then having the 8 ohm of the second one to headphone. This would be cumbersome as it would require four transformer total for stereo. Any thoughts?
