I'm not even sure if it's appropriate to post this on an electronics forum but I believe someone here could help me.
A few days ago I was watching this video on YouTube where a man tied a small bulb/LED (I don't remember) at the end of a rope and somehow made the bulb glow. Now he spun the rope so that the bulb followed a circular path, like this.
He also recorded the activity on his camera, with the lights out.
So, when he first supplied the DC and started spinning the rope, the bulb moved in perfect circle and made a clear line.
But when he supplied AC and spun the rope again, this time the video showed that the bulb was glowing on and off between it's path, i.e. it was alternative in it's glow. It looked like it glowed for a fraction of seconds then went off for another fraction of seconds then on again...
What exactly was happening here? Can someone please, please tell me!
I'd love to provide the video but I forgot the channel's name and the video title
