abating effect of battery

why at the end of battery period.it giving 1 volt instead of it actually 1.5 volt.why the internal resistance increasing and voltage decreasing at end time of battery.thank you in advance

There are two questions here.

For the first, consider what causes the battery to be able to maintain a particular voltage. Will it last forever?

Note that there are two main effects, internal resistance and electro-chemical resistance. The discussion starts about 3 minutes in.

So are you talking about the cell impedance or the ionic resistance?

There are also concentration and diffusion effects on the electrochemical potential that cannot be ignored. As the cell is exhausted, the voltage drops:
