Hundreds of nuclar bombs were exploded under ground at mercury Nevada in
the 50s, 60s, and 70s it will take several hundred yrs for the heat
generated from these bombs to dissipate.
Just like under ground thermal heat, this heat could be converted to
electrical power, Instead of using water to run turbines, Freon could be
used. Freon expands more rapidly at lower tempters than water. and could
be used over and over simply by cooling the gases it is done with
refrigeration...
If it works, the next generation of Nukes, should be built this way, If
you have a ''melt down'', fine, continue producing electricity, no one
has said Chernobal violated the Nucular test ban treaty,, Ha ha

Has the thought ever occured to you that volconoes and geysters
put out way more heat than just one or even ten Atom bombs.
In the time frame you are talking.Yet there are places like San Francisco
that found a way to really cool down that geyster at thier geo-thermal
plant.
Hell ,man's big power ideal are tinker toys to natural elements like
Hurricane Kitrina ....the storm was releasing the BTU equal of
a 10Mton A-bomb every 20 minutes in the days that it ran.Think how big
an arson you would have had to deploy to equal that.
Volcanes in times past, released enorgh dust to form a nuke winter for
17months.
You hear similar numbers for some of the bigger meteor craters in Mexico and
Arizonia .
